Menzies’ June auction achieved outstanding results in a full Melbourne saleroom, with competitive bidding from Australia and abroad via telephone and online. The auction realised a total of $4,205,005 (including buyer’s premium), with 83.9% sold by volume and 133.2% sold by value.

 Sidney Nolan’s Ned Kelly and Swamp 1960, which was previously owned by Hollywood royalty Kirk & Anne Douglas, sold for an impressive $644,318 (including buyer’s premium). A thrilling bidding war ensued for Emily Kngwarreye’s Wild Orange 1991, settling well above its estimates of $60,000 - $80,000 for a total of $245,455 (including buyer’s premium).
