Menzies is pleased to present the catalogue for the forthcoming auction of Important Australian & International Art (Lots 1-62), featuring The Frank & Janet South Collection (Lots 63-103).

A major highlight is Sidney Nolan’s transformational masterwork Bridge Crossing 1963-64 makes its auction debut from the collection of the late Sydney barrister, art dealer and Renaissance man, Clive Evatt (1931-2018). 

The Frank & Janet South Collection is a comprehensive and discerning survey of Australian art spanning two centuries. Frank and Janet South immigrated to Australia from London in 1961 and over the ensuing decades assembled a collection that reflects a deep and abiding engagement with their adopted homeland.
