signed and inscribed on label attached verso: Grandpa held Prince whilst we all got/ into the Landau. Father and Mr Taylor, (the/ Bank Manager) are taking Mother, Aunt Frances,/ Aunt Charlotte, George and I, also Miss Carter (who/ wore Pink) shopping into Manchester and Grandpa/ is telling Father to make sure that Prince is/ tied to a Lamp post in Brown Street and to/ find a nice Boy who will stay with him, also/ the Boy must be given a Penny. We had a lovely/ morning and Prince and the Boy were still in/ Brown Street ready to take us back to Plymouth/ Grove and our Dinner. Aunt Mary and the dogs (Gyp/ and Barney) stayed behind to look after Grandpa and/ the Dinner, and the year was 1906./ Helen Layfield Bradley
