Menzies is pleased to announce the timed, single-lot online auction of Peggy Patrick’s monumental painting, Mistake Creek Massacre Boab 2004.

A prodigiously talented multi-disciplinary artist and Senior Gija woman, Peggy Patrick OAM has lived through the profound social change brought about by first contact. Prior to her birth, Patrick’s mother witnessed the massacre of her parents and other family members by settlers greedy for the plains of the Kimberley, W.A. frontier. These stories were passed down to Peggy Patrick and her generation and inspired the subject matter of the current, major painting which spans 2.4 x 6.0 metres.

The auction will conclude at 7pm on Tuesday 30 May and the painting is available to view at Menzies Gallery, 1 Darling Street, South Yarra, Victoria from 10.00am – 5.00pm weekdays until closure of the sale.
