This drawing is most likely taken from the Drysdale's 1944 Sydney Morning Herald commission to record the drought in western New South Wales. Drysdale is reclining lower left and the figure to the right is possibly Keith Newman. The young girl is believed to be Drysdale's daughter Lynne.
