If you are looking to sell by auction or private sale Menzies can assist in appraising your single work of art or your collection. Our experienced specialists know the art market, and will provide confidential complimentary estimates for works of art that meet our minimum consignment value. Our appraisals are considered, taking into account comparable sales and prices achieved in recent years and how the work is positioned and its significance within an artist’s oeuvre (body of work) and its condition. Our appraisals are subject to review based on first hand inspection.

Our appraisals and marketing approach are clearly outlined. Included is an auction estimate and recommended reserve, vendor commission rate, and any associated fees and charges that could include copyright, framing, packing and shipping and possibly resale royalty through to how it is presented in our catalogue. We will frequently include information regarding Menzies past performance in sales by artist and/or period.
