Written Valuations

When you need something more formalised than a market appraisal, Menzies written valuation service is available to you. Whether you are a private collector, corporation, small business, government organisation, executor or financial advisors, there will most likely be a time where you will need to have your work formally assessed. 

We can tailor our written valuations to your requirements, be it for probate, insurance, superannuation, division of assets, leasing or corporate asset management. We can include a market value as part of this service, should you be considering selling works in the future.

Our valuations are considered, and take into account retail prices, comparable sales and prices achieved in recent years and how the work is positioned and its significance within an artist’s oeuvre (body of work), and its condition.

All valuations include an accurate description and accompanying photographic records of each artwork and are undertaken on a strictly confidential basis.

This is a fee-based service, which takes into consideration the time required and number of works being assessed. Please contact our Sydney or Melbourne office for a detailed quotation without obligation.

A reduced fee is charged for updating existing valuations that were originally undertaken by Menzies in order to keep your valuation current. Valuation fees are rebated if paintings included in the valuation are then consigned to us for sale.
