Appraisals

If you are considering selling an artwork, Deutscher~Menzies or Lawson~Menzies will provide a free initial estimate of your artwork's value. Our specialists can appraise Australian and International works of art in all mediums. Note: Deutscher~Menzies and Lawson~Menzies are a secondary market for artworks, so we cannot value new work by establishing artists currently working and / or exhibiting. 

Appraisal Afternoons

Every Wednesday from 2.00pm - 5.00pm our art specialists conduct obligation-free appraisals at our Melbourne and Sydney offices. If Wednesday afternoon is not convenient, please call our office to make an individual appointment. Alternatively you can post or email us a clear photograph of each item including the dimensions, artist's signature, medium, physical condition and any other relevant information. Please send copies as photographs cannot be returned.

Our specialists are also available to visit you. Visits are generally at no cost however a fee may be charged based on the scope and diversity of your collection. Any fees charged will be rebated if your work of art is consigned for sale with Menzies Art Brands.

Interstate Visits

Prior to each Auction our Specialists visit Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane to provide free appraisals to clients. Times for these visits are advertised on our website, in the local press and The Australian Newspaper. Clients on our mailing list are notified in advance of visits by brochure and / or email as preferred. Appointments can be made by calling our Melbourne, Sydney or our Gold Coast offices.

To submit an e-valuation email us a photograph of the work to be appraised by following this link. Please allow 3-7 days for us to respond to your query.

 

Valuations

Deutscher~Menzies and Lawson~Menzies offers a prompt and wide range of specialist valuation services to private collectors, corporations, government organisations, executors and financial advisors. Valuations can be for insurance, market appraisal, probate, family division, the Cultural Gifts Program or leasing.

All valuations are undertaken on a strictly confidential basis and include accurate descriptions and the option of accompanying digital photographic records.

Quotations for Valuation services are available upon enquiry to our office. We charge a reduced fee for updating existing valuations by Deutscher~Menzies or Lawson~Menzies, so you can always keep your insurance valuations current. Fees for market appraisals will be rebated if you consign your property for sale with us.

Tim Abdallah, National Head of Art is an approved valuer under the Commonwealth Government Cultural Gifts Program.
