Peggy Patrick, Mistake Creek Massacre Boab 2004 - Single Lot Online Auction

A prodigiously talented multi-disciplinary artist and Senior Gija woman, Peggy Patrick OAM has lived through the
profound social change brought about by first contact. Prior to her birth, Patrick’s mother witnessed the massacre
of her parents and other family members by settlers greedy for the plains of the Kimberley, W.A. frontier. These
stories were passed down to Peggy Patrick and her generation and inspired the subject matter of the current, major
painting which spans 2.4 x 6.0 metres.
